Appointment Structure:

We offer our clients a range of flexible ways to have their appointments.

  • Limited immediate availability for assessments
  • All of our clinicians are at capacity for ongoing therapy clients - waitlists available
  • Monique's books are closed and no new appointments are available
  • Face to face in our Nambour (Sunshine Coast, QLD) clinic
  • Face to face with Alecia locally to Mount Barker (SA)
  • Phone or video consults
  • Monday to Thursday
  • 50mins Medicare/DVA funded appointments
  • NDIS-funded clients can have regular 1-2hr appointments (depending on their funding).

Therapies

We proudly offer clients a range of evidence-based therapies including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Solutions Focused Therapy
  • Interpersonal Therapy
  • Mindfulness strategies
  • Collaborative-Proactive Solutions (CPS)

We are mindful that therapy needs to be bespoke and so we tailor our therapeutic approach to individuals needs and are client-centered and eclectic in our delivery.

All of our therapists have lived experience of Neurodivergence (either themselves or a family member) and we provide Neurodiversity-affirming services to all of our clients through continual professional development.

Benefits of Telehealth appointments:

  • Reduced time and cost of associated with travel to and from appointments
  • Flexibility of where you have the appointment e.g., at home, the beach, on holidays and how the appointment takes place (call/video (with options of whether you are on camera or not)/other flexible options for low spoon/low capacity days)
  • Less time required off work, organising child-care etc
  • More convenient and easier to fit into your busy schedule
  • Reduced waiting times for support
  • Your appointment can go ahead if you are unwell or need to self-isolate. Face to face appointments would need to be rescheduled!

Services and Therapies for children and teens

Did you know, Gemma is an Affiliate Members of Australian Play Therapists Association? A typical session might involve:

  • Making slime, glitter jars or lava lamps (WARNING: this might get messy!)
  • Learning about emotions using fun, interactive card games and activities
  • Relax with weighted items and enjoy our dimmed/reduced lighting to reduce sensory overload
  • Exploring sensory regulation tools such as kinetic sand, Play Doh and fidget toys
  • Painting, drawing, and other creative mediums to allow the expression of thoughts and feelings in a non-verbal manner
  • Movement activities
  • Playing one of our many board games.

We are also happy to meet with parents to provide support and education to manage various challenges through capacity building.

What we DO NOT do:

  • Law Court assessments/reports
  • Marriage/Relationship Counselling
