Prior to your first appt:
- To get the ball rolling, email us to let us know you'd like to go on our assessment waitlist. We just need your name, date of birth, email address, phone number and which assessment you'd like.
- We will email you an extensive client background information/consent form to complete online - there's no need to print/scan anything!
- Once we receive you info/consent form, we'll email you some initial screener questionnaires to complete online prior to the first appt.
- For children/teenagers who attend school: we'll email you the teacher questionnaires to forward to your child's teacher/s for them to kindly complete and return to us.
- Please email us a copy of your Mental Health Care Plan from your GP (if you have one) and also any other reports you have.
- Wait time currently is approx. 2-3months.
50mins Intake Appt:
- This appt is typically with Monique, our Clinical Psychologist.
- Based on the background information gathered, Monique will decide which psychometric assessment tools are most applicable for you/your child.
- Additional questionnaires will be emailed to you to complete online outside your appt time - to minimise the cost of appts for you. If you'd prefer to complete the questionnaires with your clinician in session, we will need to book you additional appts.
- These computerised online assessment tools have all been validated by research and have proven to be cost-effective management of your time.
- Please note we use specific assessment tools for girls/women and boys/men.
1-2hrs Assessment Appt (if relevant):
- If there is sufficient evidence to continue with the extensive comprehensive assessment, Monique will recommend moving forward and booking further appts for the comprehensive assessment.
- This appt is typically with Sharmayne.
- Child assessments: 1) The child needs to be at this appt in clinic (usually an hour). 2) One or both of the parents are needed for an appt in clinic or via phone/video (usually an hour) - the child doesn't attend this appt.
- Adult assessments: 1) The client can attend this appt in clinic or via phone/video. 2) Ideally, we like to speak to another person who is close with you (e.g., your parent, long-time friend etc) either in clinic or via phone/video.
50mins Feedback/Treatment Planning Appt:
- Following the assessment phase, your clinician will discuss the results with you and, if relevant, details of your diagnosis and tailored psychological management options.
- This appt is typically with Monique and can be in clinic or via phone/video.
- Monique can complete any necessary paperwork e.g., Carer's Allowance, Ed Qld ASD verification form
- Child assessments: the child doesn't need to attend this appt - just the parent/s.
Report and NDIS application (if eligible): Your clinician can complete an extensive report to support you in a NDIS application.
